If you are in the mood for a hike, or to get a mountain top view of the city of North Bay, Duchesnay Falls is the place for you! There are trails that connect you to both Canadore College and Nipissing University. Some of the trails loop around the falls, and others will lead you to a mountain top rest stop where you can get a panoramic view of the city.

There are many great local Golf Courses within a 30 minutes drive. If it’s just an easy game you are after. The Verner golf Club is a great choice with an all you can golf for one price. For a more challenging game visit the Laurentide Golf Club in Sturgeon Falls, Meadow Springs Colf Course in Monetville and The Maples Golf club in Noelville.
Pronounced mas-kin-onj is native for muskellunge, one of the largest fish inhabiting the surrounding waters of Lake Nipissing. Mashkinonje is over 2,000 hectares stretching from the West Bay to the West Arm of Lake Nipissing.
Mashkinonje has 35 kilometres of hiking trails that cross bedrock outcrops to the peatlands and beaver ponds. In the winter they offer Cross Country skiing and Snowshoeing. In the summer they offer Hiking and Bird Watching among other activities.
